Yes.. the first day of our Chinese calender, Year of the Pig (or Boar if you prefer) 2007.
It's been a busy day as per usual. :) We've (the family) had a good workout (around the house) and a good meal to end the night with lots of banter and light-hearted conversation, plus of course, the ever exciting fireworks display.

New Year or not.. our lives still go on, the worries which we have on our minds are still very much alive. Added with the stress all the preparations can bring, it can be a very trying time. Getting into this new year, I've had several friends discuss problems with me over coffee, tea, online, over the phone (local and long distance), in my car, at the beach.. the list goes on and on...
It looks like everyone is ready to face the challenges this year, at least, I sincerely hope so. Alan (a.k.a. donkey) and I had a good chat two days ago over chendol and prawn rojak. I remember one of the things conversed, no matter how many obstacles or hardships a person experiences, if he or she pulls through, they'll definitely come out stronger. We just have to keep moving forwards and let the past settle itself..
Hard as it was, the previous year, it was the best and the worst. It was undeniably the hardest, but I know it was the most rewarding. I've learnt so much last year. And it made up for how much time I've spent listlessly for the first three years away from home. This year will be harder than ever and I'm nervous. But I look forward to the challenges that I know will come my way and I'm ready to face them head on.
Thank you Donkey.. for not giving up on me during the many times I had previously.
To Hwan, Vera, Fen, Chunny, August, Ian, Chee Keong, Bel, Barry, Zhung, Tsu Ann, Hellen and many many more.. thank you for sharing your thoughts because I have learnt a lot these two weeks leading up to a brand new year.. To all my friends, old and new.. together we'll welcome this year and learn from all that it will present to us..
