We end up in all kinds of shit everyday – this is called “a cruel twist of fate”. Then every other day something good happens and it’s “destiny”.
So for every choice, story, thought or chance we get, there is good and there is bad. But does it mean then, when people say “There’s no good or bad.” At times like these it is just simply “a matter of opinion”.
Therefore decidedly, all the biases and the beliefs we hold, are simply fragments of our own will.
Do I want to go to school today?
Am I going to eat my vegetables?
Does this dress look good on me?
When we ask all these questions and contemplate their answers, we weigh the pros and cons and we let our beliefs fit around the solutions we come up with mainly because they wouldn’t seem valid otherwise.
I don’t need school, lots of graduates are unemployed vs. I can go places if I have a degree.
Not all doctors take veges, why should I have to? vs. I don’t wanna die young. It’s cruel to kill animals.
I’m so fat anyways, nothing will look good on me vs. Who am I kidding? I MUST have this dress, I look fabulous in anything!
No matter how you look at it, there is always another way. Whether we are opened to “the other side” or not, that is another question.
The core of who we are depends very much on the existence of our beliefs. Therefore part of preserving ourselves so to speak, is to make sure these beliefs stand.
“I believe I can.” – If you say these words frequently enough, you might just believe it.
