It's so ridiculous.
I'm referring to Kennysia's post Bahasa Malaysia is a Fine Language dated 25th October.
It's billboards and signs now, when they apply the rule to SPEECH as well, do they actually think that's gonna do any good? If anything, the Malays are gonna get the worst beating of all. A lot of the conversation goes something like this, "You tau tak I rasa disappointed kat you?". I rarely even use B.M. anymore except to gossip here in Melbourne about a particular SOMEONE which we all loathe -.-" Most of our teachers in secondary school can't even TEACH B.M. without using an English/Mandarin word or two. As far as I know, the extent to which we speak B.M. in school was during oral exams.
So what is the government trying to do?
